Isolation and Screening of Actinomycetes from Marine Sample

Abstract

Three samples were collected from different marine source of Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka. The collected samples were isolated on Starch casein agar medium. Primary screening and secondary screening were carried out and the isolates were named as isolate 1, isolate2 and isolate 3. Further sequencing was done and the isolate 1 was identified as Salinispora arenicola, isolate 2 was identified as Streptomyces sp. and isolate 3was identified as Micromonospora fulviviridis.
